The legal age of driving should be raised. To start off, there are teen that can’t mentally and physically drive. Distracting objects such as cell phones, friends in the same vehicle, radio, and anything they can think of are all deadly when driving a 4,000 pound vehicle. Teens are most likely going to be involved in drugs and alcohol. All in all, the legal driving age should be raised for numerous reasons.
The driving age should not be raised because some 18-year-olds are worse drivers than 16-year-olds. Recently, crashes for 16-year-olds have been decreasing, while crashes for 18-year-olds are increasing. Why? People are waiting until 18 to get a license so they can skip Driver’s Ed. Although the 18-year-olds still have to take a written test, they are less experienced when they get their licenses.
Should the minimum driving age be raised? That is the question many are asking, yet none have provided compelling evidence. With that being said I put forth the following examples as to why the minimum driving age should be raised. Spanning the past 5 years an outstanding 37% of all vehicular crashes in the state of Virginia have been caused as a result of teen drivers; teens driving distracted make up 11% of the total. While 11% of these crashes are a result of distracted teens only 4% of all wrecks were caused by distracted adults.
Although, I do see where some teens are immature at 16 and aren’t ready for their driver's license. It would be frightening to see them on the road by themselves making their own decisions. If the driving age was raised it might would cut out on the accidents and time police officers have to work. Some will benefit from the age being raised and others it will just be
Should the Driving Age be Raised to 18? All over the country, teens ranging from ages fifteen through seventeen are behind the wheel of a vehicle for the very first time. Many people question if the driving age should be raised due to the maturity of adolescence. What happened to the earlier the better? Driving can help teenagers learn important aspects in life, such as: responsibility, independence, and helping out the family.
Such facts have led to a great argument of raising the age of driving license above 18 and even above 20. There are opponent's viewpoints. The first view point supports the idea that there is no need to raise the age of age of driving showing clear evidences that lack of experience in driving is the main cause of different accidents, there many accidents caused by the unwise and the inexperienced grown up drivers. The other view point stated that the low age of the drivers is the main cause of the traffic problems not only accidents, they are not rational in dealing with cars to the extent that it can be a destructive means in their hands to the others and themselves.
Do you like getting that call or a knock on the door from the ambulance telling you that your child had just been in a wreck because of drunk driving? The consideration of changing the legal driving age from 18 to 21 is not a good idea. If the legal driving is to be changed for teenagers they would be deprived of all opportunities to have experience; which make the teens way more dangerous. The legal teenage driving age is currently 18, and is currently being reconsidered to change the legal driving age to 21. The legal driving age should not be changed to 21 because that is the legal drinking age which means they would bring more drinking and driving opportunity’s to the teenagers.
According to the CDC, in 2015, almost 240,000 teens died or were treated in the emergency room due to car crashes. I believe that 16 is too young to be the driving age, I think that the driving age should be raised to at least 18 years old. I believe this because the younger that you are, the less your brain is developed, which could be risky for young teens driving on the road, teenagers are normally more impulsive than adults, and teenagers often just go by what they feel instead of what is the right thing, which could end up being a downfall for them, especially on the road. First off, I believe that 16-year-olds are too young to drive because their brains are less developed than that of an older teen. The brain of a 16-year-old is less mature, and more prone to things like distractions or poor choices on the road.
Teens lives are very hectic and require lots of traveling back and forth from places. After years of having to take their kids back and forth from place to place parents are tired of it. Having the driving age at 16 allows teens to travel as they need to without interrupting the lives of others, like their parents. The driving age makes everyone's lives easier and its convenient. Raising the driving age would make many peoples lives hectic and would cause chaos among many peoples schedules.
Should the Driving Age Be Raised to 18? I take the position that the driving age should not be raised to 18. Many people believe that 16 year olds are too young to drive. However, many 16 to 17 year olds and their families disagree. Teens enjoy their freedom, and not all teens are stereotypically “wild” or “out of hand” on the road.
As I think raising the driving age to 18 is a benefit with less harm.while not raising it will harm lives.therefore,it should be discussed. Futhermore, traffic accidents is affecting the lives of the future generation. I think raising the driving age to 18 plays a part in preventing massive car crashes. As its being found that the underage drivers are more likely to go into car accidents than adults ' 'Those who favor raising the driving age say that statistics show teenagers are more likely to get into accidents than adults ' '.(Palicz).I assume if we raise driving age to 18 such incidents will decrease. I also believe adults are more prepared for driving than underage
concerned citizen has recently wrote a paper arguing that the minimum legal driving age should be raised. The paper was titled, Raise the Driving Age. There is no point in raising the minimum driving age, because most points that argue against it can easily be proved unethical or detrimental. By the age of 16, most teenagers have matured and should be able to handle the privilege of driving.
Many people believe that age doesn’t matter, it’s only the experience that does. Others say age plays a big role due to the fact that the younger the people are, the less mature they act. There are so many reasons to why the driving age should be raised. Thousands of people wonder what could be done to prevent all these tragic fatalities and between all those debates raising the legal age for driving has been the most controversial. Car accidents are reported every day.
Most teenagers think that being able to control the car while speeding means that they drive well. Increasing the driving age will significantly condense car accidents. While some people say teenagers can develop independence, the driving age should be raised to 21 because the level of obesity is high, teenagers are immature, and car accidents are increasing rapidly. Firstly, teenagers are the ones who are most likely to act in such reckless and
So establishing the raised driving age, again would be redundant. In conclusion, raising the driving age would be pointless. Delaying the inevitability of car crashes and dependence on another driver are just a few of the many reasons why we should not raise it. It’s just perfect the way it is.
