Since I was a little girl first reciting my alphabet and numbers, I have possessed a love of learning. That overwhelming desire to learn and become a well-rounded person has stayed over the years, driving me to push myself and continually strive to improve and accomplish all I set out to. My devotion to learning has caused me to be a creative person who thinks outside the box and appreciates the perspectives of others. My thirst for knowledge has been cultivated over time by caring and supportive teachers, who have inspired me to enter into the educational field and foster that same desire to learn in my own classroom. The small classes and increased access to professors allows for a more individualized education. As well, the unique and free thinking perspective that accompanies a liberal arts college provides a broadened outlook on the world, and places an emphasis on encouraging and aiding students to be outstanding students and members of society. I know that while attending University of Richmond I will be more than just a number or statistic; I will receive an enriching and individualized education. The liberal arts mentality of University of Richmond will allow me to achieve my goals by not only encouraging me to thrive and grow, but also providing me with an enlightened perspective of the world around me which I will bring into my own classroom.
