When deciding what matters to me I asked my family and friends. The majority of the responses were success, money, and family. I thought about this for a while and decided that what matters to me most on earth is kindness. I want everyone in the world to be kind, compassionate, loving human beings who treat each other with respect. I feel like this is because of my favorite verse, 1 Peter 4:8 ‘Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.’ Maybe I’m naïve to think that being better people can solve the world problems we have.
As a person who has been bullied for most of my life, I value kindness as one of the most important quality a person can hold. Creating connections with people and seeing their journeys is what makes me passionate and energized about life. I believe that the way to show people Christ is though actions. I want to help the community and the people within it to get to live a fair and positive life. I believe that TCU is the school to help me get to that point. When researching university to attend I stumbled upon TCU and with further reading I started imagining where I would live, what classes I would take, and suddenly realizing that TCU was it. The reason I fell in love with TCU was not just since it matched my wish list but the people. Every TCU undergraduate or alumni I have encountered only has positive experiences. Not only that, every person I have meet that has attended TCU is kind and willing to help anyone. Craving that Christian community that TCU offers, and the values TCU instills in their students is something that I admire and wish to contribute to.
