College Athletes nowadays should now be receiving income for their abilities instead of the NCAA keeping everything for themselves. This is why college athlete should be getting paid to play. Playing a college sport is equivalent to having a full time job. You give almost all of your time playing your sport and going to class, you don't have extra time to get a job working four to eight hours a day. These kids also do not have any extra money to spend. Some of these kids are on scholarship, but there's even more that's not. These students are paying their way through school while playing a sport on top of that. Now giving them an allowance or a check would be a huge benefit to helping these kids, so they can enjoy college a little more and take a little bit of the stress away.

No matter what sport, or gender these athletes are entitled to something, they are all more than deserving of being compensated for all of their hard work and dedication. “They even risk career-ending injuries every time that they step onto the court, field or rink.” They also have a lot in front of them and lots they have to accomplish. Something like giving them a hundred dollars a week or a certain amount of money spread through each semester. Jalen Rose proposed “ Each student-athlete should be paid a stipend of $2,000 per semester.” Just enough money to go out once in awhile, get some food, or put gas in your car. Paying them helps more than just the kids, some of them are coming from struggling financial homes, so it's helping the families as well, by taking the burden off of them to send them
