Companies find themselves year after year on the Fortune 500 list. The one common denominator has been their approach to management and their employees. For a company to be successful in the market today, they have to have a clear cut vision in the form of a mission statement and create a corporate culture which moves that vision into a reality and thrive in. Companies embrace change and cannot fear it, and this takes their companies to the next level of becoming a model for other companies to follow.

When attempting to help motivate people, it's important to identify what motivates each individual/employee (Krutza, 2011). There are different approaches to motivating people that are not helpful but are destructive, for example, fear and intimidation. These approaches can seem very ineffective in motivating people and the approaches are hurtful and usually only motivate for the short-term goals. There are approaches that are constructive and effective like delegation and coaching. Constructive approaches can be extremely effective in motivating others for long periods of time.
