Over the past years, America has had many immigrants come from all over the world to become American citizens, which allowed America to become a diverse country. The different cultures, languages, and the races make America the melting pot. While some people believe America embracing diversity creates unity, it can be argued that America is moving toward a new standard in which diversity and individuality are encouraged more than uniformity and conformity because people are being taught different languages and some people combine or teach others their culture. Children all over the country are being taught many different languages. Learning different languages is important because our country is more diverse than others.
How could diversity in the United States potentially lead to collapse? There are many elements that contribute to collapse. Whether it’s on a larger scale, like a country, or on a smaller scale, like a family. There is an infinite amount. But the most important one, is diversity.
We all know the Shakespearian play Hamlet and its many remember able cast. By either reading it in high school or maybe watching one of the many film adaptations. Though what do we really know about the characters? Is Gertrude really innocent in the death of her husband, or was Ophelia’s death even suicide at all, and most importantly maybe Hamlet really has become mad. Yes, even the charming prince of Demark cannot escape the clutches of insanity.
There is always a need for improvement of parental and community involvement to support diversity and the students of the school. The purpose of this assignment was to analyze the planning processes and how to improve these issues. The overall objective is to create a safe and warm culture among staff and parents, while inviting the community to be a part of the process. It also takes raising money to improve the support of parents and encourage diversity within school. The stakeholders that are involved include one assistant principal, two parents and a school based group.
In my mind, diversity—and the subsequent journey ones reaches to attain their own, personal definition—is analogous to art; the final masterpiece is always unique and beautiful, no matter the amount of time, effort, and hardship it underwent. Some may think that living in South Florida provides quite a bit of diversity, but in such a large city as Miami, our day to day activities do not actually expose us to a numerous variety of cultures as one might think. Attending the Diversity Experience at WPI would allow me the experience of meeting people of distinctive cultures and traditions in a setting that is not typical of South Florida. It would provide me the opportunity to converse and share experiences with other students that may have similar interests, such as robotics and engineering, and are seeking their place in the world. I visualize myself in a university where I can evolve and stimulate my brain with knowledge and innovation, while doing research, creating and inventing.
The word diversity is a word that can stir up many emotions in individuals. To be different and unique makes life more interesting, so I have always enjoyed being around people who were just that, different from me. Learning about different languages, places, cultures, and beliefs, keeps humans connected to each other as people in a society. However, the beauty of appreciating one’s differences should not be used as a tool to satisfy an agenda. Diversity for some has become a hot topic buzzword used to sell programs, products, and people the idea if one’s differences whether race, language, culture, gender, and lifestyle are not recognized then a racist or bigot you must be.
