For many years, American’s were being concerned about the wrong health risk soon to come. Many people are concerned with health risk that will affect Americans later on in life or accidents, rather than focus on what matters today. The truth is we are not being vigilant about what causes higher death rate in our young Americans. According to the CDC “over 37.5% of Americans are overweight or obese.”This reasoning is because of the level of physical activity and our terrible eating habit. The issue of obesity and being overweight is occurring because of the American culture.
What is obesity? Obesity does not occur when you weigh just a few pounds over your suggested weight. A child is considered obese when their weight is at least ten percent higher than what is recommended for their height and body type. Whether its genetics, or a slow metabolism. Not getting enough exercise is the main cause. We consume calories without even thinking about working them off. If we were more sociable we would be in normal weight range and wouldn’t have any issues of being overweight and wouldn’t have to suffer the consequence of the effects of being overweight.
Everyone that knows a person who is obese should try to help remove the factor that I have discussed from their lives. These factors are again, fast food, technology, and environment/behavior. Even though technology is useful it can be harmful for someone that is suffering from obesity. Fast food in itself is bad for any and everybody to consume.
