About 87 percent of American high school students are chronically sleep deprived, according to a 2006 survey from the National Sleep Foundation. Most middle schoolers and high schoolers are sleep deprived because school starts too early. Most schools start really early, causing students to not get enough sleep. Schools should start later to prevent emotional disorders, depression, and anxiety from being sleep deprived. If school starts later, then students will be healthier. One reason students would be healthier is because they would get more sleep.
