1. What is the job and what tasks does it involve?
Child protection service is aimed at children and young people who have a possibility of being at harm or danger. The purpose of this is to investigate to see if there is a likelihood of a child being subjected to harm, child neglect or any sort of mistreatment to a child. By investigating a child’s situation, it allows for detailed information to conclude if there is sufficient evidence to consider the danger that the child may be in. As well as investigating such situations, child protection also takes on supervision of the child who is going through legal orders by the Children’s court. If the child’s protection cannot be guaranteed when staying with their family, they are to deal with the issue before it is taken to the Children’s Court. For those who have reported suspicions of child abuse or are concerned about child maltreatment, Child Protectors are able to give consolations to them. They also …show more content…

• Department of Health and Human Services: Their aim is to make a difference to children and young people where qualified social welfare and behavioural professionals emphasise social justice and children rights and is also under the government.
• Children’s Protection Society [CPS]: Is a Victorian organisation for children of abuse and neglect that has been ongoing for 120 years. Not only do they provide support for children of maltreatment, they also assist with children of homelessness, poverty and mental health, which may lead to the child’s harm in the future. Like other child protection services, they aim to protect vulnerable children from immoral actions that intend to hurt them.
