In the play, “The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet”, there are several significant details that help the reader know the events that had led to the two main characters’ death. Initially, the character Friar Laurence and Capulet had a big impact on their tragedy. An important detail is pride, one whom is looking for self-benefit. Also, compulsion is a main detail, the pressure of someone making you do something. Finally, the Shakespearean play tells what harm miscommunication can do. These details are significant because it shows the actions that led to Romeo and Juliet’s death. Friar Laurence is presented as a holy man and very well respected by other characters. The Friars role is being a friend and advisor to Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet told Friar Laurence to marry them and to keep it a secret from their parents. At the time Lord Capulet And Lord Montague had hatred against each other. The Friar told Romeo that it would not be a wise move to marry Juliet because he had recently been with another girl. According to the play, it states, “These violent delights have violent ends/And in their triumph die, like fire and powder,” (Act 2, Scene 6). Capulet goes to Juliet and demands her to get married to Paris or she would never be able to speak or see his face, being a disgrace to the family. In regards to the play, the Lord states, “Hang thee, young baggage! Disobedient wretch!.../Or never after look me in the face.” (Act 3 Scene 4).
