A war that changed the world, and a day that will live in infamy, the attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese occurred on December 7, 1941. This attack forced us as a nation into joining WWII that started in the year 1930 when the Japan first invaded Northern China. The war ended on September 2, 1945 when the Japanese signed an official surrender document. This greatly impacted our nation because the attack on Pearl Harbor sunk/damaged 21 U.S. ships, destroyed 188 aircrafts, and we lost 2,403 people both military and civilians alike This was the push that the U.S. needed to finally join the fight against Nazi Germany, Italy and Japan. After this attack America joined the war to get back at the Japanese and to help England stop the Nazi’s from conquering more than just Europe. Four days after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Germany and Italy officially declared war on the U.S., which is the first time that they have actually declared war on a Nation. This made the war between Europe turn into a World War, and at that, the largest in history. America is in pretty bad shape in the beginning of this war because 500,000 men have to do what they can until the extra 134 men that were enlisted can join the battle, and help either in the Pacific with the Japanese or the Atlantic in Africa to confront Italy and Germany. The Pacific war is crucial for both sides. Whoever wins this battle pretty much wins the battle in the Pacific. What are they fighting for?
