Obesity, one of the major health problems in the United States has now become a serious epidemic. Previously, obesity was not very common however; now a larger amount of Americans classify as obese. With the easy access to fast food and junk gaining excessive weight can be very easy. More than half of the American population eats fast foods and junk foods on a daily basis. Some people eat fast foods because they enjoy eating it whereas; others only eat it because of the affordable prices or they simply do not have a choice. Obesity can lead to various health problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and even cardiovascular disease. Many people try dieting and exercising as a way to prevent or decrease obesity however; those methods do not seem to work all the time. These methods can be very effective when done correctly however; most people do not it correctly. Many people would start their diet by eating healthier foods and smaller portions or by using food supplements and as soon as they lose a couple pounds they think that they have won the race and quit. Then a couple weeks or months later they end up the same size they were or even bigger. Others try to lose weight by going to the gym every day to exercise but later when they go home they eat a big plate of food adding back the same fat they lost. The problem with these two methods would be consistency, one factor many Americans lack. They would start off great and then eventually quit. Yes, dieting and exercising prove as great ways to reduce obesity; however if people do not do it correctly there would be no point doing
