Japan and the United States have different school systems where they all have different grade subsections. For example, Japanese children would have six years of elementary school, while American students would have five years. Not only that, they each contain different school lifes. For example, students in Japan have to take their outside shoes off when entering the building while students in America don’t. I will compare Yokosuka Middle School which is a typical American school to Yokosuka Shiritsu Tokiwa Junior High School which is a typical Japanese school. I will also display differences between schools.
When comparing the start times and end times of schools, American Middle Schools are different due to each school accommodating their student needs. Yokosuka Middle School starts at 7:35 in the morning and ends at 14:20. American schools usually give eight hours of school time. Most Japanese schools start at around 8:30 and end at 15:00 but due to each school also helping their students for the better, it may be different. In Japanese schools students usually stay after 15:00 due to club activities, same for American schools.

Changing natural appearances aren’t allowed, for example dying your hair. There are many more rules applied to Japanese schools. In American schools, dress codes are implemented for students to follow. For punishment in Japanese schools teachers will never usually never resort to corporal punishment. Japanese children are taught to be disciplined the day they were born, because of that teachers don’t have to deal with much baddies.
