If you look at the states in the United States that have fully legalized the recreational use of marijuana, more specifically the state of Colorado, there was so much tax revenue just from the sale of marijuana that for the first time ever there was a tax surplus. This surplus went back into the pockets of taxpayers as well as into community programs.
