State Science Core Standard and Objective Standard 4: Life Science. Students will gain an understanding of Life Science through the study of changes in organisms over time and the nature of living things. Objective 1: Communicate observations about the similarities and differences between offspring and between populations. a. They should be able to observe and comment on the differences and similarities between offspring and between populations. They will be able to communicate observation about plants and animals, including humans, and how they resemble their parents. They also be able to analyze the individual similarities and differences within and across larger groups. They will learn that living things change and depend on upon their environment to satisfy their basic needs. They need to know how to make observations about living things and their environment using the five senses and be able to identify how natural earth materials, help to sustain plant and animal life. They should be able to describe and model life cycles of living things. I think that because we are talking about the animal kingdoms, that they should be able to explain the differences between the 4 groups that we are going over. I want them to learn and be able to communicate the differences and similarities in animals and why they belong to that animal kingdom. I want them to be able to categorize the animals into the correct kingdom when given a list. They should know that there are four different groups of reptiles. I would want them to know what the groups are and how they are defined. I want them to be able to understand and use the words that we introduce in this
