When I first started in high school I had one dream in mind, I was going to be an engineer. 8th grade is when I started to see what engineering was. I researched all the different types and the one that interested me the most was aerospace engineering. I thought it was so cool because they designed things like airplanes and spaceships and missiles. I could see myself in the future, working on a new spaceship for Nasa, or designing the most efficient airplane Boeing had ever seen. I continued this all through high school, until my junior year. This is when I decided to take an Introduction to Engineering class. Now the class at first was really fun we learned how to use a program called Autodesk Inventor and I really liked it. I believe this degree will help me achieve this goal because it will help me obtain the knowledge that I will need to help people with any type of mental illness. I believe that from obtaining this degree I will gain the necessary tools and skills needed to do this, and this is why I think this major will help me. One big life goal I have is to start an animal foster home. I have a dog named Cleopatra, or Cleo for short. We didn't get her at an animal shelter or a dog breeder, she was found on the side of the road. She had been beaten, starved, and was almost dead. When we first got her home she barely weighed 30 pounds and you could see every rib she had. We fed her and got her clean, then decided to keep her. That was three years ago and ever since then she has been part of our family and we love her. She was abandoned on the side of the road, almost dead, and if she would have never been found she would have died alone. I don't want that to happen to any animal.
