Nonprofit Organization and Management Week 8 Assignment
The case study of 2V/ACT has several different problems that need to be addressed. The three solutions that were presented each addressed an important issue area and provided a valid solution, however, the solution that I would choose is the Revenue and Do Scenario. This option would include a board member that is committed to meeting the fundraising needs of the organization and would develop a ten-month plan that would outline how it would be accomplished. I choose this solution because it directly identifies with the main problem this organization is facing, which is constant and sustainable funding. Further analysis of this approach can be analyzed using SWOT which will identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. The main strength of this plan is that it aligns with the most crucial problems that the organization is facing. As described in the article, 2V/ACT is having trouble obtaining consistent funding, which is making it difficult for the organization to continue with its mission. Many of the funding areas are not providing enough money for the organization to be sustainable. With this solution, the main focus would be dedication in finding appropriate funders. This plan requires that the board members create relationships with other resources that will allow them to meet their fundraising needs. This opportunity also aligns with the opportunity of serving youth outside Seattle that was identified in the SYIN assessment because creating these partnerships could lead to consistent funding, which would then allow the organization to better accomplish their mission. Another opportunity of this solution is that it could potential create an effective plan that could be revised and reused to continue to reach future fundraising
