Obesity There are so many huge problems in this world. From viruses to droughts to serious car accidents and so many more problems. There main problem I want to talk about is obesity. I want to address obesity specifically because it’s so common in a lot of people. Obesity can be found in all ages, however obesity usually occurs in the teen ages, for many reasons. Obesity is a disease that affects more than one-third of the U.S. adult population (about78.6 million Americans). Worldwide obesity has nearly doubled since 1980. One of the main reason for obesity is junk food, fast food. Junk food and fast food contains fat and many substances that are bad for you. There are other ways also to lose weight if you are obese, like medication and diets. Medication isn’t the best way to go, you should speak to a doctor before doing so. Being on a diet is a great way to go, you should watch what you eat and how much you eat. Obesity effects the lives of the people who has this disease, obviously. It also effects the person’s family and friends in everyday life. It effects them because they see how the person struggles with this disease on a daily basis. They want to help the person by encouraging them to exercise but help can’t be given to someone who doesn’t want it. I have a friend who was obese, then he got tired of it so he decided he was going to make a huge change. My friend weighed 310 pounds when he realized he needed to do something about it. My friend started doing simple things like running around the park for about an hour. Then as he slowly progressed he started running miles after miles until he couldn’t breathe anymore. During this period of time in his life he was making all sorts of changes he immediately stopped eating fast food, and stuck to healthy food. He also was on diet for a long time, my friend currently weighs 220. He made a huge change and now when you see him, you see the
