According to Business Dictionary, a mission statement is “a written declaration of an organization’s core purpose and focus that normally remains unchanged overtime. Properly crafted mission statements serve as filters to separate what is important from what is not, clearly state which markets will be served and how, and communicate a sense of intended direction to the entire organization” (Business Dictionary.com, 2016). Before anything else it is important to state the main difference between a vision and a mission. Specifically the mission of PANPHA as stated by Mission Statements is that “it represents over 320 nonprofit providers of long-term care and housing services for 65,000 elderly residents across Pennsylvania. The Association is committed to helping its members provide quality care efficiently and effectively for the individuals and families they serve. In an age of impersonal care PANPHA members put people before profits”(MissionStatements.com, 2009-2016). More precisely, PANPHA's mission is to "promote the interest of their members by enhancing their ability to provide quality services efficiently and effectively; and by representing their members through cooperative action." In contrary to their vision, which has the purpose to "serve as the preeminent advocate for facilitating change and inspiring its members to positively impact the field of aging services in Pennsylvania." LeadingAge PA is committed to providing members with the data, information and education necessary to adapt to the ever changing landscape of senior services and care and lobbying on their behalf for public policy initiatives that support individual rights, quality care, equitable access and reimbursement for seniors.” For example, on their webpage there is a picture of graphing mostly to help those elderly people with data calculation in order for them to keep up with their information" (LeadingAge PA an association of Non-Profit senior services).
