My last year of university has proved to be a huge accomplishment and progress in my daily life. Since English is my second language, my writing is growing slowly. I took many ISL classes in Jefferson Community and Technical College to improve my English and writing. I learned some of the basics of writing in English including how to write MLA and APA format essays. During these classes, I have not only grown as a student and a writer, but as a person as well. I feel that my experience in these courses has helped me become more confident and gain more knowledge. Throughout my experience as a student, I learned how to communicate better, to never give up and push through, and to become a good teacher by using this knowledge in my daily life.

My writing improved a lot from where it was before, especially since the beginning of this year. I hope that by knowing my weaknesses I will be able to improve my writing to succeed in future assignments. As general studies major, I understand that writing is going to become a large part of my career and be important when I get my Masters degree to become a teacher. I have to work hard to improve my writing by taking more courses and practice my writing. With many of the goals in my life the things that I have learned should help me out.
