Reflective Essay

What I liked about collaborating with other writers was being able to hear their ideas. These ideas would help me to find different ways to write or improve what I already know. I also got to hear their opinions and learn more about their perspective. This way, I might learn about my audience. Hearing ideas, other than my own, helps me to assess what I have already done and helped me when I had writer’s block.

I discovered that some of my classmates enjoyed writing, even though it might be tedious. I also saw that they were putting in effort and that effort made the books better. It may have taken quite a while to write these books, but I am proud of my class for staying with it and finishing those books. …show more content…

When I was creating the words for certain scenes, I had to play it out in my head to understand it better. I needed to look at it from different points of views in order to include the other characters. Looking back on my story, I was able to see how my writing was and to understand what I needed to improve on. This class has been very helpful with improving my writing skills that I know I will need.

My favorite aspect of the experience was getting to see how the others write and writing out a story on my own. I’ve written short stories before, but I’ve never finished them and I’m glad that I finished this one. I got to improve my spelling and my vocabulary, and I learned how to improve my writing for the future. I also loved how I was able to write and dedicate this book to my little cousin so she can learn from it. Finishing this class for the second time is something I will remember and I am glad I took it.

What worked for me in this class was, taking my time to gather ideas and not rushing to put something together. What didn’t work was forgetting a few things when I was writing my story. I honestly think that I did very good with this class and learned more from it than
