Furthermore, I became aware of the contemporary issues in education as I interacted closely with teachers and I gained more knowledge on the school curricula. I believe, these attributes will aid me to become a competent Sociology teacher and have an impact; not only on individuals, butMy enthusiasm for teaching emerged during my experience as a teaching assistant, and learning mentor during my university years. I used my creativity and humour to encourage students to work to their highest ability; in an enjoyable and friendly environment. The pleasure of enlightening students with information is a joyful aspect of teaching, as it allows one to witness the fruits of their hard-work and make a positive difference. The feeling of making an immense contribution to a student's life is indefinable. My affinity towards young people, and the high level of job satisfaction has drawn me towards this profession.

At university I engaged in the Leicester Award, which helped me acquire reflexive skills as I critically reflected on my performance as an EAL volunteer. The award enabled me to develop, emotional resilience and stamina. I helped my student overcome problems, without stressing. Ideas such as, implementing learning objectives, presenting diminutive amounts of information on PowerPoint slides and debating, were effective teaching styles I applied to promote structured learning and class discussions. The presentation reinforced my leadership, as I planned and delivered a 20 minute lesson, which enhanced my verbal and written communication skills, as A-level students were given PowerPoint handouts and I confidently expressed ideas orally.
