My ambition from college onwards always has been to become a children’s nurse who can make a positive change to young children’s lives. I’ve always had an interest in caring for children and liked the thought of working in a hospital environment where I can be involved with medical treatment of patients and meet different health professionals.
I want to be a nurse because I have always been interested in caring for children. I think it is the most fulfilling thing in the world, and nursing will allow me to do this on a daily basis. Although I understand that nursing can be a very demanding profession, I feel it can also be a very satisfying one where you have the chance to support individuals during their times of need. I’m a sociable person and feel that I have the correct mental attitude, personality and social skills which are required to communicate effectively with children from different backgrounds and ages. This is evident through my work experience placements where I was able to use resources that I created to communicate with children at a nursery. As a nurse, I can get the opportunity to interact with patients, medical staff, doctors and administrators every day. This gives me the opportunity to learn from other careers and add to my knowledge base. …show more content…

I have these skills and I truly believe that I can make a difference to children, by supporting them and their families through their difficult times when they are at their most vulnerable. I am a caring and loving individual who finds it quite easy to interact with new individual’s everyday and therefore, I would want to feel that I have helped someone to regain their health. I think this is an important quality as working as nurse means meeting new people every day and having to ensure them to trust
