As a young child, I was always interested in transportation, math, and science; it was through these interests that my desire to pursue a career in engineering surfaced. I am extremely committed to pursuing this major, as I hope to one day be able to work with products that focus on travel. I began my own research to learn about random technological products and understand how I could incorporate their qualities to create a more influential product focused on the development of transportation. It was through these efforts that I discovered my desire to one day advance our efficiency in transportation in order to lessen crowding and pollution in cities. I would take advantage of programs such as joining clubs, like the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and the Men’s Club Volleyball team. It would be a great way for me to further pursue my passion in the engineering field while still keeping in touch with people of the same culture and pursuing relationships with other athletes to help broaden the community I am acquainted with. Within the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers I foresee gaining hands on experience in the field I hope to pursue and becoming more acquainted with the topics I am studying. By being a part of these organizations, I would be able to not only further develop my knowledge in this particular field, but also further develop my experience of working within a team. Within the Latino Alumni Association I would like to take advantage of the Mentorship and Professional Networking support that they have to offer such as internships and advice for running my own business. Not only do I seek opportunities to take part in clubs in order to advance my knowledge, but I’m also interested in pursuing internships that will introduce me to the engineering and business worlds. By being a part of the LMU community, I hope to join programs that will benefit me in my pursuit to become a mechanical engineer that successfully runs his own transportation
