Being a researcher in theoretical physics for quantum computing is a job that has called out to me all of my life. The current research being done in quantum computing needs to find a useful implementation. This job appeals to me because I thoroughly enjoy learning about new things and being caught up with all the current technology. Growing up I could see the technology of today grow and shape. Relative to about thirty years ago technology has seemed to evolve at an exponential rate. Today, technology is reaching an atomic level. The technology can't get any smaller or complex. The field of quantum computing unlocks a whole new region of computing that could be the beginning of a revolutionary new technology. As a child, I was interested in …show more content…

As I entered high school, I reached the point that learned all of the information to learn about in the topic. I stayed up to date with all the current research being done and now I want to be the one to make those discoveries. I saw how fast the technology of the past was being outdated. Children who grew up with technology may not realize the advancement in technology to this date, but it has advanced significantly. I love testing the limits of what can be done, technology has not been fully researched, and the possibilities of technology in the future are endless. As technology reaches the atomic scale, the atoms begin to interact with the technology. An electron could quantum tunnel through a physical obstruction. Using quantum computing uses photons to measure the bits. They react differently than much of the other technology that has been researched. I want to research in the field of theoretical physics and find a way to implement quantum computing in a revolutionary way. The field of study is relatively new and I know that it is going to be an innovative form of modern technology. Although the subject interests me, I am most interested in the research
