My optimal lifestyle would involve traveling and meeting new people, whereas my ideal career would allow me to analyze information and problem-solve. Furthermore, I aspire to be fluent in German. Majoring in International Studies would allow me to achieve these things. A career in International Business is a perfect combination of my interests and skills, which is why I wish to major in this field. Ever since my first day of German class, I have been infatuated with the language and culture of Germany and other German-speaking countries. Learning German makes me feel as though I possess a key that unlocks opportunities as well as bridges the divide that kept me from communicating with a whole sector of the world. Learning new languages expands one’s horizons, and majoring in International Studies would take that expansion to an even greater level. It would allow me to achieve my aspiration of truly comprehending the German language, and being able to speak and translate it with ease. The fact that when I began learning German, I could look at a page of a German book and it looked like nonsense, whereas now I can understand the majority of what it says, astounds me and fuels my desire to continue developing that understanding. …show more content…
