I didn’t choose culinary, culinary choose me! I choose cooking because I’m very passionate about food. Ever since I was little I’ve always wanted to cook. I would sit in the living room watching my great grandma, Mrs. Hailey Jenkins; make everything from homemade rolls to her famous jelly cakes. The value of this education will be a big step in my career; without education I wouldn’t be where I am today. I wouldn’t be applying for this college ,but I would have given up on my dreams and settled for less. I wouldn’t have set goals for myself to achieve.
My career goal is within five to ten years from now I plan to be cooking and baking in a kitchen that I can call my own. Yes, I Know there will be obstacles in my way ,but I will overcome them. Challenges like rude customers, Bad attitudes from both employees and customers, property problems, and financial problems. Everything happens for a reason though and with help I will know how to conquer those problems.
When I’m accepted into The Art Institute of Dallas I will be a hundred percent committed to my education . I will Join outside clubs for different programs that could later in life benefit my career. I will study and turn in assignments on time, ask for one on one help when needed, and stay connected with my program. Practicing my cooking and baking outside of class will also help my career.
