As a future teacher, it is v very important to me to always keep up with the current education developing in our world. The reason why diversity has such a huge impact on my life is that I personally went to a Catholic school where there was little to no diversity in my school at all. It was primarily all white middle-class students who came from a well-off family. I never truly got to experience diversity until my middle school years after I changed school distich and went to a public school. I have always said changing schools was the best decisions in my life and I stand by that 100%. In my new school, I met so many new people, friends, and teachers. These people truly have a huge impact on my life and are the reasons why I am becoming a teacher. I was so inspired by the different cultures all around me at my public school and the different languages some of my friends spoke I truly am blessed to have this amount of diversity in my life. Here at Concordia College, I am still surrounded by so many different cultures, backgrounds, people from different parts of the world and people from different states within the United States. I have the pleasure of expenses all different traditions, views on topics, and even foods my friends eat. Going into the teaching field I cannot wait to incorporate all of my student’s diversity in my classroom and embarrass every aspect of it. The reason I feel as though have a strong relationship with my students is very important is because if my students aren’t able to come to me and talk to me about school, life, problems act then I believe I am failing my students. The reason I feel as though I am failing my students is that I should be the number one person my students can trust when they are in a school setting. They need to know that I am there for them, believe in them and only want to see them succeed. If I am unable to have a good relationship with my studies I believe it will make the classroom setting a place where they dread to be. They will not enjoy being in my class and probably will have a harder time leering because if they don’t trust me and don’t “like” me it will strain their ability to learn. I believe I need to have a great relationship with my colleagues too. The reason its necessary to have a strong relationship with my fellow collages is because your coworkers are in the same position as you are. If you are struggling with something they probably have or are going through something similar to you. You need to be able to talk to your coworkers and trust them. I believe that my coworkers will also be my friends outside of the classroom setting. So many of the teachers I have had in the past have gained so many friends by working.
