Everyone has a purpose in life. Your purpose is based off your values, strengths, and interests. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said “The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.” By my assessment, the best way to make yourself useful to society is to have a purpose. My purpose is to contribute to the tech community through my restorative knowledge and input while displaying my love and integrity toward the craft. I believe that this statement is an accurate representation of my purpose because I feel that my talents will undoubtedly help push the technology field through the common issues that stop us every day from advancing as a society. This goal is important to me because Google is one of the leading companies in the IT field and to work for a company of that caliber would be an honor. It is not difficult to relate this to my purpose statement since Google already contributes so much to the tech community by ways of smart phones, navigation, electronic mail, and search engine. I believe by working for this corporation it would give me the opportunity to contribute to the tech community in ways I can’t even imagine. The only obstacle that could get in my way of this goal would be failing to meet the requirements necessary to work for such a position. By looking for all the requirements needed and making a checklist by the time I have finished my master’s degree I should have the checklist completed by the time necessary to apply for the position at Google.
