The world of informatics is an intricate and captivating field that I think it is not just useful, but rather essential to modern society's life. It is a subject that necessitates skills such as analytical, mathematical and logical thinking. Creativity is also required: in fact, inventiveness is a determining factor when it comes to solve problems, explore new pathways and give projects a personal touch.
I consider computer science as something I could do for the rest of my life. It all started a few years ago, when a friend one day came up to me and showed me the HTML page of a website. I did not know how it worked, but seeing those lines of code on the screen changed something inside of me. For the first time, I felt like I was in the right place at the right moment. As soon as I got home, I felt the necessity of knowing more. Even if it was not easy at first, learning to write HTML introduced me to programming. Time has flown, but coding still gives me goosebumps as it did that day. The enthusiasm for facing new challenges, the amount of mental activity and the possibility of building new worlds just by typing on the keyboard: these are the aspects that keep my love alive. I started loving Mathematics by winning a local competition in Maths and Logic, when I was only in fifth grade. Studying it an high level has been one of the most exciting parts of my academic experience so far. Even if I did not get the chance to take computer science classes in school, I enjoy to assimilate more things possible about it when I am at home.
