Sports help this school in more ways than one, and many people tend to overlook all of the smaller things sports and other athletic programs can do for the student body that participates in these programs. People will be less prideful as a whole without sports, with the team we cheer for being outlets for school pride, so to remove it would be to take away a large section of that pride. Many students in athletic activities have to have a minimum GPA to participate in sports or other events, this pushes them to do more work in effort to allow them to play sports. Many students bond over sporting events and other activities, and to take away those would result in lost friendships or potential friendships. For these reasons, athletic activities should be allowed to continue being a regular activity in our school system. A school is best when all of the students, teachers, and other faculty can all relate to one common group or goal, and in this case sports can help give all of these groups someone to root for. People tend to become happier and even more motivated to be better when they have a sports team to follow. Most all people who participate in sports will try harder to get better grades so that they can continue playing in athletic activities. Many people will stop caring as much for their grades without a reason to keep them up and over a certain GPA. Some people may choose to transfer to another school to continue playing at another school. Overtime, people who used to play sports will have no outlet to express themselves physically or even mentally and this would cause people to lose
