Animals are used for a vast number of different products, continuously poked with needles, cut open, having food and water withheld from them, poisoned, left in a small, cold metal cage. Animals that are used for animal testing often suffer an immense amount, and typically end up dying at the end of the experiment. If they do not die, they may be killed or used for another experiment. In most cases animals are being caused harm for only a slight chance of the product really working for humans, humans and animals have a different reaction to most products. Industries always have to be ahead of each other, competing, and coming up with new materials.
Animal Ethics- Pro Animal Research There is a large number of people who would disagree with the statement that “Animal testing is very beneficial” but what these people don’t realize is that without animal testing we wouldn’t have all the medical advancements that we have today. Animal testing has made a huge impact on our daily lives and will affect our future to come. According to Alec Baldwin, “One cannot be ‘single issue’ when it comes to medical research.” Baldwin’s mother is apart of the Breast Cancer Research Fund, she stated that “This year, approximately 182,800 women in the United States will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer, and approximately 40,800 women will die from breast cancer.”
Animal testing had been occurring for centuries. It can be dated back to the ancient times of the Greeks and Romans. Physicians would dissect animals with the interest to obtain knowledge. One physician said that he would rather use a pig because he wanted to avoid seeing an unpleasant expression of an ape. Humans do not want to think of animals as on the same level of us.
All over the world innocent animals are locked in cold dark cages for the benefit of humans. In the US over 50 million animals are kept in labs and quite literally abused. Although animal testing may have been proven for humans in many ways its inhumane, usually ineffective, and unfair to these animals. Testing on poor helpless animals for the use of humans is cruel and inhumane. This act of abuse doesn't only occur in the US, but it happens all over the world.
Animal research has often been a controversial issue with animal activists and scientists, placing them on opposite ends of the spectrum at times. The ethics alone have placed a burden on the biomedical community with outrage at the procedures animals have undergone. Animals are killed, injected with fatal diseases, gone without food to test physiological responses and much more at the detriment of the animal’s physical and emotional state. Specific animals are used for research more than others, and these animals are rats (Rattus), mice (Mus), and birds. With that in mind, mice remain invaluable in a biomedical setting for their similarity to the human genome, their cost-effective nature, and their necessity through genetic engineering.
Each year, more than 100 million animals are killed or experimented on by scientists. Experimenting on animals not only affects the animal, but humans as well. While testing is important for finding cures for many different diseases, the amount of living organisms killed during experiments is avoidable. Animal testing is a world-wide issue, and serious measures must be placed by removing all animals from a laboratory setting and banning testing throughout the United States. Using animals to test the safety of products is used throughout the whole world.
I believe that they should keep killing animals for animal testing. Because they show how many dna they have inside them. They show what vitamin they have and how they share They use animal testing every year in scientific for they could use the commercial testing that come out of the animals body they first kill the animal then when they are finish they start taking parts off the animal for they could test how many have dangerous affection. They say that in California that the last 100 years the medical breakthrough in the research using the animasl.
Animal experimentation is cruel procedure for the animal to endure. Not only that but, they are also an unreliable method to test products and treatments. Additionally, they produce large sums of toxic waste that prove harmful for the environment. For these reasons, medical experimentation on animals should not be permitted.
Every year cosmetic companies in the United states kill millions of animals while testing their products. (Point: the fight for animal rights ) According to the British Union for abolition of vivisection, common uses of laboratory animals include testing for toxicity, brain research, dental research, and surgical experiments ( Cruel Beauty). Animals have rights that we are obligated to acknowledge. They have the right to autonomy and, by extension, the rights to freedom from exploitation and freedom from suffering.
Introduction Over 100 million animals are killed during experimentation for medical purposes each year, in the US alone. (PETA 2018). The animals killed for the purpose of animals are not merely mice and rabbits, but can even by cats and dogs that many consider to be loyal pets. Animal testing is used to test the safety and effectiveness of millions of drugs around the world.
About 1.4 million animals die each year from animal testing(Zurlo). This is because of the harsh ways the
Many have never wondered what path a cosmetic or a drug must follow before finding its final place on a store shelf and do not realize that a great suffering may stand behind it. What is more, they unconsciously contribute to this phenomenon by buying products of a brand which makes laboratory tests on animals. If by any chance some happen to be familiar with the situation, they believe in theories that animals are treated extremely kindly, kept in clean cages and that nothing serious happens to them. Unfortunately, the real-life situation is different. Many cosmetic and drug concerns use animals to test the effectiveness of new products and to find and eliminate possible harmful effects, which may appear to a human.
Without a doubt, the advancement in the medical field in the current generation is truly remarkable. It has come a long way as many cures have been developed in order to treat complex illnesses. Besides that, the advancement of modern medication has brought a great advantage to not only human beings but also to other living creatures such as animals and plants. The question that many wonder would be how are these medications developed? It certainly is a complex set of procedure to develop treatments for any kind of diseases, let alone a targeted sickness.
A lot of people heard the term of animal testing somewhere in their life, but they are not sure what exactly that means. It means animal are expose to drugs, where scientists find out how helpful that medication or cosmetic going to be for human body. Many organization use animal testing in their medical research. A lot of cosmetic and drugs are testing on animal before those medication even make it to market. Every time you buy any eye drops or lips products some people try to look at if those are safe to use.
review of relevant ethical issues, including the choice of ethical theory A significant aspect to consider when discussing the issue of animal experimentation focuses on people’s views of animals. Mostly everyone would agree that animals are entitled to respect, which is why it is unethical to mistreat pets or aimlessly hurts animals. The question is, how much respect are they owed and what rights, if any, do they have? How much should they be allowed to suffer in research?
