Breast milk is a pure substance mothers give their babies, while formula is a man made substance constituted from cheap oils. All mammals produce milk for their young, and it happens everyday. No one hears that it is disgusting to see a puppy nursing, but when a human baby nurses, it is considered disgusting. Breastfeeding is a natural part of life. Women should not be shamed for breastfeeding in public because there are double standards, there are laws allowing mothers to breastfeed, and it is beneficial for mother and baby.

It is easy for a mother to breastfeed because she does not have to carry around excess weight that bottles would add. “When a mother breastfeeds, she reduces the risk of postpartum depression” (kwegmann).
