Cosmetic products are amazing things to have for everyday beauty needs but is it worth the lives of innocent animals? Throughout The United States, many animals are exploited and tested in cosmetic research labs. Rabbits are restrained and shaved to perform skin and eye irritation tests, and after it’s all done, they’re left to suffer. It’s completely inhumane because animals feel every poke and scrape. Advancements in technology have made it easier for companies to test their products safely without using animals. These modern advancements will provide more relevant results. Tests on animals aren’t only outdated but unreliable. According to the Huffington Post, the success rates of animal testing is five to twenty-five percent reliability that the product will not cause any physical harm to the human body. Testing cosmetic product on animals is inhumane, unreliable, and there are many alternatives to spare the lives of many animals. No matter the type of animal it may be, from dogs to mice, they all have the right to live and not be tortured on the daily. By putting a ban on animal testing it has set alternative methods in motion. An article by The Odyssey said if cosmetic companies do not change their practices and find alternatives for testing their products they will not be able to distribute or sell those products in the countries that have bans on animal testing.
