Illegal immigration is steadily becoming more of a problem in the United States as each day passes. Every state, every county, every city, and every citizen in this country is being or has been affected by illegal immigrants. Trillions and trillions of dollars are being spent every year on benefits and services that are essentially handed over to these illegals for basically just being illegal! To lower the rising number of illegal immigrants entering the United States, a stronger border must be put in place, stricter actions, such as immediate deportation, against those who did cross illegally need to be implemented, and having benefits and amnesty not be available to illegals. Illegal immigration causes multiple problems in the United States. For example, crime and violence affects our citizens. If an illegal is caught in the US by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), he or she only has 48 hours to be placed in custody. If 48 hours is up, they are set free. I think that is ridiculous! I understand that illegals have basic rights just like anyone else, but what happens if this same illegal that is released goes and kills hundreds just because they can? I believe a more reasonable time period needs to be in place. Also, if ICE does charge an illegal, he or she can request a removal hearing hoping to have the charges dropped even if the charges are correct! These hearings can take years and years to complete, costing tax payers thousands. In addition, some illegals use this as a way to escape getting immediately deported. Ultimately, I believe that if someone is caught here illegally, they should immediately be deported back from wherever they came from, end of story.
