Cannabis has been used for medical purposes for thousands of years, but it has recently been outlawed in the United States for its psychoactive components. Something most people do not understand is that cannabis can help more than it can hurt someone. It is a natural medication that people have been brainwashed into thinking it is horrible. There are multiple health benefits that can not be replicated easily. I am personally all for the legalization of marijuana.

The medical benefits are so much better than what pills are. People have to be prescribed so many pills to treat everything that cannabis can help. The pills have horrible side effects, they are addictive, can cause overdoses, and many more unfortunate consequences. Marijuana helps stimulate the mind and is one of nature’s medicines. People have been looking for a cure for cancer, it may have been found, but it is illegal in most states. I personally have a boatload of mental disorders that cannabis would help treat. Medications do not help, they only make it worse. That is the case for countless people. The thing that could help so many people is outlawed in most states. This is causing less jail space for the people who actually deserve jail time. It is also costing the country tons of money enforcing these laws. The police are spending time hunting down people who possess or grow marijuana when there are people like rapists and murderers.
