I am most attracted to Loma Linda University’s mission to make man whole and continue the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus Christ and its commitment to faith and science. As a Seventh-day Adventist christian, the motto to make man whole has never been more personal than it is now. As I grow in my experience as a christian, to further the teaching and healing ministry of Jesus continues to take center stage. This mission and an understanding of the need for whole person care is something I seek to demonstrate and encourage through my profession as a nurse and involvement in my community.
As he turned to go he heard the train. He stopped and waited for it. He could feel it under his feet. It came boring out of the east like some ribald satellite of the coming sun howling and bellowing in the distance and the long light of the headlamp running through the tangled mesquite brakes and creating out of the night the endless fenceline down the dead straight right of way and sucking it back again wire and post mile on mile into the darkness after where the boilersmoke disbanded slowly along the faint new horizon and the sound came laggins and he stood still holding his hat in his hands the passing groundshudder watching it till it was gone.
After enjoying and successfully completing a full year of the Arts and Science program at Camosun College, I immediately afterwards decided to move from Victoria, B.C., where I was born and raised, to Montreal Q.C. This decision was primarily made out of a desire to contextualize and perfect my French language skills after graduating secondary school with my Double Dogwood diploma. I felt the need to ensure that my bilingual doors would stay open for future career and general life opportunities, especially after dedicating the majority of my education towards the incredible Immersion program, and thoroughly enjoying it. After graduating and no longer having the outlet to utilize my skill I began to miss French, while I feared letting my second language go stagnant.
I would like to be apart of ASB because I’m interested in helping Medea be the best school it can be. I always like to learn new things and I will appreciate new experiences learning from seventh and eighth graders. I am responsible and I am excited for my leadership skills to be tested. Also, I will gain more responsibility and learn more leadership skills throughout my time in ASB. As part of ASB, I will be able to work with other students who have similar interests and want to be fellow leaders at Medea.

I am currently a case manager with a mental health/mental retardation organization and a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer.
I look forward to helping students to develop a drive for personal academic excellence and a rich perspective on the world around them as they explore links between the individual, society, and the natural world. The potential of secondary geography is to stimulate an interest in the wider world through learning knowledge, both in and beyond the classroom, and acquiring geographical and transferable skills to last a lifetime. I am currently studying a broad-based geography degree ranging from economic to cultural geography, but also including staples of classroom geography including development, coastal processes and volcanology. My subject knowledge is strong and wide-ranging and aligned to both current GCSE and A-Level specifications and

I choose to be a Preprofessional Studies major because my passion lies in the medical field. My professional goal is to become a pediatric doctor and possibly working in research for children 's illnesses, such as diabetes. I first gained an interest in the medical field during my senior year of high school. My prior foundation in the sciences was weak and its appeal to me was low, but my anatomy and physiology class changed my attitude. I had a curiosity to the inner workings of the body and this class explored that in addition to research on anatomy and illnesses.
Why have I chosen to pursue my studies at APU? The answer isn’t as simple as I’d like it to be and to answer that I’m going to have to get a bit personal which, in my opinion, always makes for a good essay even though some might disagree. I’m twenty-two years old and I’m having a quarter life crisis. That might sound awful to you but to me it’s completely normal and that scares me so badly.

I want to further my education, on which I have begun to build with more than three years of work experience in the Information Technology (IT) field, by pursuing graduate studies in Engineering Management at The University of Texas at Austin. After graduating with Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from Texas A&M University, I felt I should first gain some hands-on experience in learning and solving real life problems and in understanding the process flow in the IT area. I have enjoyed the three years of my work experience, especially the opportunity I got to be part of the innovative projects such as Advanced Battery development program which offers valuable features such as reporting, scheduling, etc. key to a scalable manufacturing system, used Site Minder as authorization or authentication middleware and so on.
Personal Statement Throughout my life, I have found constant joy in clearly conceptualizing new ideas and logically translating them to simple and often beautiful numbers. I am fascinated by the ways that math, particularly statistics, connects with everything around us. Understanding that knowledge must precede all else, I have sought out the broadest of opportunities to expand my skills. This quest began well before I commenced my undergraduate degree in Statistics at American University.
I would like to become a leader in the field of composition and rhetoric. I have worked toward this goal by presenting pedagogy papers at local conferences. One of my objectives for the Ph.D. program will be to collaborate with the IUP faculty on classroom dynamics in the composition course and publish beneficial research in professional journals while continuing to present at industry conferences. My main focus will be producing classroom resources that will enrich the educational experience for students and provide cohesive teaching materials for educators. These goals would not be obtainable if I had not taken control over the wayward direction my life was heading when I was in my twenties.
