Proctor and Gamble, also known as P&G, is a consumer goods company head-quartered in Cincinnati, Ohio. The company was formed by William Proctor and James Gamble in 1837, and from the beginning the company strived to make workers feel appreciated and comfortable in their work environment. Fast forward to 2017 when P&G was announced as no. 13 on DiversityInc’s Top 50 list, after already being on the list 10 other times. P&G states on their main website that their mission of Diversity and Inclusion is that “Everyone valued. Everyone Included. Everyone performing at their peak.” The company celebrates the unique and varied backgrounds of all their employees by creating an environment where workers and managers do more than just interact with one another.
