Animal Testing has been a very controversial topic for decades. Throughout history, animal testing has played a major role in leading to many new medicines and discoveries. Most of the world participates in these experiments, with the aims of achieving the most modern technologies. Animal testing needs to be continued to advance our science and medicines, and to continue to save millions of lives.
Companies should reconsider the usefulness and dependency of animal testing when it comes to its benefits to humankind. There are tests called in-vitro which detect the specific toxic properties of a drug or chemical by using human cells. Due to using human cells the results will be more accurate and relevant for us. Even though animals have benefited from certain medical trials, for instance the rabies vaccination, they still have to go through harsh experiments over and over again to make sure the vaccination
Animal testing is a subject that has been deemed controversial for quite a long time now, and is still argued today. Now, you'll see many companies breaking from this animal testing, and making vegan products and selling almost just as well. Just listening to the word,"Animal testing" automatically makes you think of something horrible and inhumane, but there are reasons that it isn't. California Biomedical Research Association says that almost every medical breakthrough within the last 100 years has been derived from animal testing. Animals, especially those that have extremely similar DNA to ours, have been exceptionally helpful in medical research.
As part of the health products regulation module we must discuss an ethical issue. In this essay I will discuss the issue of testing on animals and deliberate whether it is right or wrong. The concept of ethics will be talked about and what people really think of it. Does ethics come into everyday life? What would you do if nobody was looking?

Test conducted on animals have been used for testing medicines, surgeries, and vaccines. The information we retrieve from these test determine if it’s safe to give out these products to the public or not. Animals like mice have shorter life cycles allowing scientist to see how it affects one over their entire life span. Animal testing has saved multiple humans lives, and made helpful vaccines, like the polio vaccine.
The topic for today would be that if animal testing should be stopped. I would like to stand with the pro side because animal cruelty is a very serious problem to animal kind today. They can be argued with several reasons such as, it is cruel and inhumane treatment, it can lead to misleading research, and plenty of animal lives are wasted and we do not want to raise it higher. My first argument should be that it is cruel and inhumane acts or treatment.

Although essential to research labs, animal activists continue to fight for the removal of the so-called cruel testing. 2.0 Body Content 2.1 Reduction A way of justifying animal testing is to reduce the number of animals involved in animal testing. In 1970s, 5.5 million of various animals including chimpanzees, dogs, mice, rabbits, monkeys etc. are involve in the medical research field as test subjects for various experiments (PETA, 2014). However, some experiments were not beneficial to the development of the medical field but cost over a million dollar. In the United States of America, 16 billion dollars had been used on animal experimentation- 1.9 million dollars are used on the experimenting on heart diseases on dogs conducted by Ohio State University, 5 million dollars were used on obesity experiments conducted by Oregon National Primate Research Centre, while 16 million dollars were used by Harvard University to fund 1200 individual experiments on drug addiction by using monkeys as test subjects. Although animals were sacrificed in the experiments, most experiments did not reach its goal due to flaws causing a waste of life (Grant, 2013; Peta, 2014).

Supporters of animal experimentation argue the viewpoint in which it must continue because of the enormous scientific research that animal models provide. Others, however, insist that all animal experimentation should come to an end.
Throughout each year in the United States, 26 million animals are used in lab testing (animal-testing.procon.org). In the laboratories, chemicals, in which are used in medical facilities and used by humans, are put on animals to determine if that certain chemical is toxic and or if it is safe for humans to handle it. Most of the chemicals used for testing are chemicals that are used in everyday products such as, paint, household cleaners, or dyes. A great deal of people sees the positives on animal testing; however, there are many reasons as to why lab testing on animals should be illegal in the United States. The first reason is because countless facilities mistreat lab animals and it can be considered as animal abuse.

Testing on animals has become illegal, and no one has consented to be a test subject to help find a treatment or cure for this life-ending disease. What options do you have to choose from? Some people deem animal testing to be inhumane and cruel, while others believe that testing on animals, is simply part of science.

The list goes on and on and the use of the animal is never ending in this process. This procedure is widely used to develop new medicines and to test the safety of other products.
