This is to determine if the product will cause irritation or inflammation. The United States allows animals to be burned, shocked, poisoned, isolated, starved, drowned, addicted to drugs, and brain-damaged. Any experiment, no matter how painful and agonizing, it is allowed to do on animals. Pain-killers are not even required!

In the United States of America, 16 billion dollars had been used on animal experimentation- 1.9 million dollars are used on the experimenting on heart diseases on dogs conducted by Ohio State University, 5 million dollars were used on obesity experiments conducted by Oregon National Primate Research Centre, while 16 million dollars were used by Harvard University to fund 1200 individual experiments on drug addiction by using monkeys as test subjects. Although animals were sacrificed in the experiments, most experiments did not reach its goal due to flaws causing a waste of life (Grant, 2013; Peta, 2014).
Animal Testing: Justifying the Science Modern advances in science and health are a result of animal experimentation. The topic of animal rights has been a big debate ever since medical researchers and scientists began using animals and their experiments. The main debate is whether or not it is ethical for animals be used for medical research and the rights animals have. The issue is, animals are used research for human benefit and many argue this is inhumane and cruel. In general, the proponents of using animals for medical research argue that it is necessary for improving and saving humans’ lives but are not opposed to finding an alternative that is less controversial.
Throughout time humans have tested many types of things on animals to see if it is safe for humans to use. Today many companies that produce products like shampoo, drugs and many other products test their products on animals before they will sell it to the public. In china it is mandatory for all products to be tested on animals before they reach the public. Throughout recent years animal experimentation has become a very controversial topic. Many people say that animal testing is an evil and cruel thing to do to animals, But many people say that animal testing is a necessary evil because we need to know if products today are safe to use on humans.

No matter how cruel, redundant, or painful an experiment may be, none of them are illegal. Even when valid alternatives to animals are available, the law does not require that they be used. Also, ninety two percent of experimental drugs that are safe on animals fail in human clinical trials because they either do not work or are dangerous. Even though it is cruel to the animals, not always effective, and there are existing alternatives, animal testing is still used around the world every day, but is animal testing necessary?
