Our current immigration system is broken, harms our economy, and does not reflect our values as a nation. Without true immigration reform, we suffer severe economic, cultural, fiscal and political strains in communities across America. Immigration has become an urging issue in legislation on both the national and state levels. Immigration legislation made the policy agenda in all 50 states in 2007, with 46 states enacting into law a total of 240 immigration-related bills. This proposal of the “Fairness for High-Skilled Immigrants Act of 2015” (H.R.213) stands out as the most promising measure to fix part of the problems.
The second notable question to be made when discussing the pros and cons of immigration is how the immigrants affect the American citizens’ life. Similar to the question about the immigrants effect on economy, both pro-immigration and anti-immigration supporters have a different response to this question. On the pro-immigration side, most of the supporters argued that the more low skilled immigrants migrate to the United States the lower the consumer price would be. As the price drops, American citizens would be able to purchase more goods, thus increasing the standard of living in the United States. In contrast, the anti-immigration supporters do not share the same perspective.
To begin with , I know quite an amount of illegals struggling just to get a job to feed their families. And no it's not just Mexicans, there are many more people who are in the same position. I have friends neighbors and even family members that would more than appreciate having a work permit. Okay imagine this, your parents traveled from a whole other country just to get a job and give you a better future than theirs. They then start to adapt to the environment and soon are on the search for a job, rejection soon arises simply because they don't have a social security.
Immigrants do not only help the economy by increasing the employment rate, they also increase taxpayers that benefits the US economy positively. There are a lot of misconceptions about undocumented immigrants and paying taxes. Many believe that since they are unauthorized immigrants they do not pay taxes. But in reality, many undocumented immigrants do pay taxes just like everyone else. They may not have a legal document that allows them to be in this country, but they find ways to pay for their taxes such as a Fake Social Security Numbers (SSN) or Individual Tax Identification numbers (ITIN)
U.S immigration law is extremely intricate. Ever since 1965, The Immigration And Naturalization Act has been the body of law governing the current immigration policy. The US has created various quotas and requirements that people who plan on coming to the country must adhere to. There are three principles in the United States’ policy of immigration: the reunification of families, the promotion of diversity, the protection of refugees and admission of immigrants with skills that may help the economy. Despite these various ways, many believe that our system is outdated and has not kept up with the ever-changing world economy.
Illegal Immigration Our topic is the negative side of Illegal Immigration. We believe that Illegal Immigrants are bad for the United States. We think immigration is bad because americans lose jobs to immigrants, there is an increase in poverty and having more immigrants in the United States will just encourage more bad behavior and it will encourage more immigrants to come.
Leticia Suarez Mrs. Salinas English 4 11/14/14 Illegal Immigrants There is almost about an average of sixty five thousand undocumented students in the United States that do not have that option to get in-state tuition or go to college due to their legal status. Illegal immigrants should be allowed to go to college and get In-state tuition for the following reasons, the students shouldn’t be denied college education with or without legal status, the united states is a country of opportunities, and the students who are hard working and stand a high academic standard should be granted that wish to go to college. Students should not be denied college education with or without legal status On my researches I have stated

Maureen Clark Mrs. Kline Hon. English 10/Per. 4 7 April 2017 Allowing Illegal Immigrants in the U.S. During the late Nineteenth and Twentieth centuries, the number of illegal and undocumented immigrants living in the United States has developed to a prodigious number. Most of these immigrants are coming from Mexico and Central American countries. Although the number of undocumented and illegal immigrants has grown over the past couple of decades, there is still the issue of them being illegal.
After reading how Americans debated whether immigration should be restricted or not I have seen many different opinions and facts that counter each other. Americans that are on the side of immigration being restricted state that many of the immigrants caused an increase in criminal activity. While others say that there is no evidence to be shown to support this. Another argument that was being made is whether immigration was good or bad for employment. A third argument that was stated was American ideals being diminished.overall
Illegal immigrants should be allowed to stay in the U.S.A. and become citizens because they are heavy workers, want a better life and most importantly they contribute to the U.S. economy. Immigrants simply want to obtain an opportunity to live and work in this great country. With all this in mind it is clear that they deserve a path to citizenship. Countless people say illegal immigrants are damaging the U.S. economy; however, they are contributing immensely by paying their taxes.
Illegal Immigration: Positive or Negative? For many years, people from Mexico and South America, and other places around the world, have been illegally jumping the U.S. border, without any documentation. The debate on whether America should close our borders or keep them open has been a topic that has been argued from both sides for years. About 11 to 12 million illegal immigrants reside in the U.S. right now. Many of these immigrants come across the border down by Arizona and New Mexico, that separates the U.S. and Mexico.
The American Dream is considered to be an ethical appeal that portrays the idea of freedom and equal opportunity to all. What makes this concept so desirable is that in many countries throughout the world don't have the opportunities that are offered in the U.S., which eventually leads people to immigrate. By immigrating to the U.S., thousands of individuals will be able to search for opportunities they never had before to help lead them to a better life. Though the concept itself seems straight and simple, the established laws that have been made have made this task so much difficult. With political leaders such as President Trump fearing that immigrants pose a threat to the labor force and a contributor to crime rates, there has been more
Nicolas Shoemaker Mrs Gallos English 3 3rd period 16 November 2017 I researched about illegal immigration. I learned so much more than i already knew about illegal immigration. There are two different sides to my topic, but i'm not on either side. The sides are for it or against it and each side had different reasons for problems and different solutions to the same problem. One side is racist and one side is basically supporting them.
