DISCUSSING ORGANIZATIONAL CHANGE Lisa Thai HRMT-440 Colorado Technical University 4/18/2018 Business organizations in the industry are always experiencing changes in the business environment. This forces them to change their operations hence in order to coup with the changing business environment (Fletcher, 2004). The technology keeps on advancing hence the need for business enterprises to adopt the use of it in order to boosts its performance in the industry. Organizations that perform well in the industry starts to grow in size hence expanding their operations in the industry. The increase in size of a firm requires it to makes certain changes in its operations in order to incorporate the growth in its operations.
In the article, “Blue Collar Brilliance”, published in the summer of 2009 by Mike Rose in the American Scholar, Rose persuades people that the amount of someone’s educational level doesn’t justify their intelligence level and we shouldn’t base our opinions of their intelligence purely off their jobs. Since this article was published in the American Scholar his target audience is people of higher education and those who might hold stereotypes of blue collar workers. Rose is highly successful in persuading his audience to form new opinions on blue collar workers and their overall intelligence levels. A Rhetorical Analysis from Anne-Marie Slaughter’s A Toxic Work World In “A toxic work World” by Anne-Marie Slaughter wrote September 18th, 2015 in The New York Times, Slaughter, the president of the New America and also an author of the forthcoming “Unfinished Business: Women Men Work Family,” argues that becoming a working parent you aren’t able to maintain a family nor take care of their love ones such as their parents along with working a full time job, having to deal with needing to take off towards your children seeing how your job can be affected by termination on some levels. Although Walton’s original vision for the store was relatively modest, the half century since its founding has seen Walmart morph into one of the biggest companies in the world. Today headed by one Doug McMillon, Walmart boasts more than 5000 stores in the United States of America alone and employs more than 1.5 million people. Walmart is undoubtedly an American institution, yet each Walmart store feels like its own little country. Walmart seems to have its own laws and customs and the people who shop their on a regular basis appear almost primitive in their behavior as they go about raiding the store’s shelves and wrestling with fellow customers for discount flat screen televisions and bulk packages of two-ply toilet paper.
“Organizational structure describes the way a company arranges its tasks, work, and people to create a product or service and achieve its goals” (Walston, 2017, p.322). “A similar term, organizational design, normally refers to the alignment of an organization’s structure—including roles and processes for formal reporting relationships—with its missions and goals” (Walston, 2017, p.322). It is typical of health care facilities to operate as a hierarchical structure with supervisors having a comparatively limited span of control (Walston, 2017). Some health care organizations have a relatively short hierarchy, whereas others have a taller hierarchy.
The Office is a documentary of an office in Scranton. It shows the life of the employees in a company. The employees here have some common beliefs and values, which brings them together as an organization. Since this was an organization, there was an organizational culture. The IP book defines organizational culture as “the shard systems of symbols and meanings created by the members through their interactions with one another.”
Heroes can be defined in many different ways. The best definition would be that a hero is a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds, and noble qualities (dictionary.reference.com/browse/hero). In almost every novel or story there is a hero and it typically tends to be the main character. Whether or not the main character is a hero or not can be hard to tell depending on the story or novel. In the book 1984 by George Orwell the main character being a hero is a matter of opinion because it depends on which way the reader interprets it.
Understanding the frames in an organization is crucial. As Bolman and Deal described in their book Reframing Organizations Artistry, Choice and Leadership, “ They (frames) help us decipher the full array of significant clues, capturing a more comprehensive picture of what’s going on and what to do”. Firstly, this project will be focus on the symbolic frame, this frame will provide a better understanding of the culture within the organization. As Bolman and Deal describe “ Culture forms the superglue that bonds an organization, unites people and help accomplish desired ends”. Thus, I will describe how culture within the nonprofit organization.

Happiness is an emotional or a mental state of mind. If a person chooses to be happy, and persue's the attraction of maintaining to stay happy then a person will eventually be happy. Being happy has a huge role on how a person sees things in life. If a person is positive and attracts all positiveness, then they will eventually be happy. But, if a person is negative then that will result in being miserable in every aspect of life.
The Importance of a Company’s Culture The culture of a company is one of the most important and sometimes overlooked factors in an organization. The culture can increase employee engagement and increase productivity which will allow a company to reach its goals, “From productivity and engagement in the organization’s day-to-day, to an employer brand that naturally fuels recruiting efforts, to creating a lasting brand that customers immediately recognize, there’s no escaping it – culture radiates outward into the marketplace” (Straz 2015). The culture can have a great impact on the employees. Employees thrive in a positive working environment and the ability to engage with their managers without fear of retaliation.
In organization, there should be established system to achieve the task and there should be relationship between system and task of the organization (McNamra,
