Standard # 1: Learner Development As a teacher, it is important to help guide students through learning in order for them to feel secure in the classroom and around their classmates. I believe it is very critical for students to feel secure in their classroom environment to achieve successful learning development. For example, if there are a few students in the classroom who require different teaching methods, they will not engage during the lesson if they feel that they are not as smart as everyone else. It is the teacher's responsibility to recognize these students and carter to their needs as a learner; those needs, in my opinion, are centering each lesson around and for kinesthetic, auditory, visual learners, including social-emotional …show more content…

When I say a lot I mean planning for things that you expect to happen during the lesson. For example, having an activity planned in case the students do not understand the textbook work or providing a visual for students who need to see how the lesson can be done.
Standard # 8: Instructional Strategies
Strategies stem from trial and error. If the students do not understand the math lesson without a calculator, try to make a fun activity where there can create their own calculator or act as calculators to make the lesson fun. Having multiple ways to teach the students is key, passing those strategies to the students and teaching them how to help themselves will benefit the teacher and most importantly the student.
Standard # 9: Professional Learning and Ethical Practice This is something I want to continue to practice throughout my entire time as a teacher. From my experience, many teachers have the idea that there is nothing left to learn after they receive certification and a degree. Evaluating your growth and taking in beneficial advice for teaching strategies and personal growth as a teacher, is just as important as helping your students be
