All schools have a team of governors the number can be up to 20 people. They are all responsible for the running of the school. Sometimes you have at least one parent and one teacher on the board. The governors tend to make the policies and decisions in the school this can also be called a committee these are also used in public service. This means that the management of the school can be split into specific areas. ​
The senior management team is staff who have a lot of experience in a school. For example deputy head and the head of foundation stage. Or the leader of the special educational needs. Theses are know as the SENCO. ​
A SENCO plays an important role in a school in secondary and primary schools they monitor and ensure the educational support for children who have special educational needs. SENCO also has to have regular meetings with parent and other professionals like social workers and foster parents. A SENCO also make them self available to provide advice and support to teachers if they need help with the child. A teachers responsibility is to plan and prepare the curriculum in chunks so this can be tought to them effectively. Most teachers normally teach all the subjects included in the national curriculum. They may not be a subject leader in a primary school but you will have someone who is responsible for staying up to date with all the requirements. Teachers also have support staff to help teach in what ever way is needed at the time. Schools also have other support staff which include lunch time staff, admin staff, support assistants for children. All of these help to make the school run in a good effective way.
