This is an elected position which is responsible for representing over 13,000 early childhood educators in New York City. Miller has accumulated over 15 years in this position, curating vast amounts of knowledge, experience, perspective, and understanding of the personnel she represents. The feedback given to her team can develop positive habits in the workplace, leading to further engagement from her team. (Renn, 2024). In order to improve the team’s cohesiveness, Miller tasks her workers with group objectives and makes sure their strengths play off of each other. As a leader in one of the most diverse cities in the world, Miller is very aware of corporate social responsibility. She ensures that the needs of educators, an often underrepresented group, are met and maintained. Educators are a cornerstone of society and maintaining the stability of that group has major impacts on society and the economy. Organizing Activities Due to the more flexible approach on communications and objectives corroborated with other departments of Miller’s organization, I would list her organizational structure as a network team structure. The main line of communications to her department is heavily reliant on the call center, which relays requests and questions from educators all over New York City. Training is carried out by another department focused on developing knowledge and awareness in the educator sector.
