Teaching Interview Question #1: What is the main job of a teacher?
Teachers have many jobs, from being a bookkeeper, to a counselor, to a peacekeeper. I believe teachers’ main job is to teach. Simple as this may seem, teaching entails a great many things. Not only do teachers have to explain content, they have to do it in a way that facilitates understanding. Teaches need to teach students to learn, rather than holding their hand the entire class. In addition, teachers do not only teach the subject material, but also how to interact with the world and its people, and think critically about issues that affect society. Teaching students how to become good people by serving as their role model, their guides. This may not hold true for all teachers, but I believe it is true for the good ones.
Teaching Interview Question #2: Many people criticize the schools. Do you think the schools are better or worse than they used to be?

I do think schools have taken a few steps back in some regards, but as we have learned more about what constitutes effective teaching, schools have learned how to reach all sorts of different students. Schools used to primarily use lectures for teaching, but that has changed to accommodate students of all different learning styles. Schools used to segregate students by the color of their skin, and their sexual orientation, but that has also passed. More students are going to college to pursue a higher degree than ever before, and, as a result, schools are pushing their students more. I believe the reason why people criticize school is because the media pays the most attention to troubled schools, which are, and have always been a problem. I believe if we compared schools today to standards held in the past, we would be excelling. Do I think the education system has taken a few steps back? Yes. But for every step back, I believe it has taken several steps
