I firmly believe that every child has the right to a good education, and that teachers have a great responsibility in their role as educators. I feel that I possess the skills and qualities that will enable me to make a positive contribution to teaching. My abilities and qualities lead me to believe that I could be an excellent role model and make a difference to children’s lives. I understand that teaching as a profession is a difficult one but one which will offer me the challenge and diversity I seek from my career.
Throughout the years my love for teaching has enhanced and during my recent placement at Wygate Park Academy my desire to become a primary school teacher was cemented. I was working with a mixed class of 5-6 year olds, assisting the teaching in the classroom of all lessons. I felt great satisfaction at seeing the young children grasp the fundamentals behind learning a topic such as basic addition through number bonds. Using a variety of teaching styles ensured that the children’s interest and focus was maintained. Making learning fun was also apparent during all of the lessons and helped the success of the pupils. Being part of the school life on a daily basis demonstrated to me how much more there is to teaching than just the class room. Clerical duties, planning and organising are all skills that are required and can make a big difference to the success in educating
