I think it is extremely important for teenagers to have an outlet besides their parents to talk to about an issue, to get advice, or simply for comfort.. In a panic, Romeo turns to Friar Lawrence who can offer neutral advice. At first, the Friar can't believe how quickly Romeo has abandoned Rosaline and fallen in love with Juliet, so he reminds Romeo of the suddenness of his decisions. Even if you and your parents have a great relationship, you may want to find your own path and make your own choices. He would be letting them down, and that is what teenagers currently tend to be afraid of today. There are hundreds of topics I would feel very uncomfortable approaching my parents about. For example, I cannot even imagine approaching my mom and asking about my relationship, how I feel, advice on how to handle my catty friends, or how to abandon something that could potentially harm me.
