Maya Angelou once said "If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude." (1958) I believe that life's about living in the moment, not dwelling on the past or dreaming about the future. We live in a culture that's so intent on growing up, that sometimes it's hard to stop and breathe. UNC Wilmington is my breathe of fresh air where I can live in the moment, study, and prepare for my future.

Angelou’s quote on the chalk board, it’s like my life came into place. I was suddenly embraced by an idea that life was created to live in the moment. To take full advantage of what we’ve got, and make the best of it. Life is about realizing your goals, and doing everything possible to make them a reality. I needed to enjoy my blessings and give back to those in need. I began to live with a positive attitude. It was time to make the most of every moment, and learn from experience.
