Alfred University, my new home, my education, my future. I chose this school for a multitude of reasons. When I first visited this campus two years ago with my older brother, Noah, I knew this was the school for me. They say that when you first step on a college campus, you get a gut feeling telling you weather or not the school is for you. But when I stepped onto the Alfred campus, my body was filled with excitement. I couldn't wait to graduate, to go to Alfred University. I chose Alfred because they also have a phenomenal engineering program. I was very interested in engineering at the time, and when I learned of the 4+1 program it "sealed the deal". Prior coming to college I was very nervous yet decently excited. I imagined college as being quite enjoyable yet also challenging. I looked forward to meeting new people, and in a sense "starting again". College for me was a time to restart and be who I really was. I expected it to be kind of rough, plenty of homework, cold, and very busy with a fraction of fun. However, upon arriving I have found college to be rather different than my expectations. Yes, there is a decent quantity of challenging work, but it is a lot more fun. I absolutely love the fact that college is essentially a town made up of your friends. I enjoy the freedom of being able to do whatever I want, whenever I want. There is a decent amount of responsibility and ownership that comes along with this, but to me it is well worth it. My first week here I went to orientation and I went to the play fair held in the Annex. This has got to be one of my favorite memories so far. I enjoyed every second of it, everyone was so welcoming, kind, respectful and helpful. It was the one event that I met some amazing people and became great friends with hem. However, I do have one other memory that is one of my favorites and it is most likely my favorite thing about Alfred University. Joining the Alfred University Swimming and Diving
